Alpha Sigma Lambda is dedicated to the advancement of scholarship and recognizes high scholastic achievement in an adult student's career.  Alpha Sigma Lambda's aim is to recognize special achievements of adults who accomplish academic excellence while managing the demands of home and work.

Student Membership Information

By virtue of your distinguished academic record at Rutgers University - New Brunswick, nontraditional students, may be eligible for membership in ALPHA SIGMA LAMBDA - Beta Zeta Chapter.  Alpha Sigma Lambda is an honor society that recognizes the extraordinary efforts of adults engaged in balancing the multiple responsibilities of home, career, community, and education. 

Eligibility Criteria: (candidates must meet all)

  1. Identified as a nontraditional student through University College Community;
  2. Degree-seeking student enrolled at either Rutgers’ School of Arts & Sciences, School of Business-NB, School of Engineering, School of Environmental & Biological Sciences, School of Management & Labor Relations, the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning & Public Policy, or the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy;
  3. Selected from the highest 20% of the students who have completed 24 graded credits and are matriculated in an undergraduate degree program while enrolled at a designated Rutgers unit as outlined in criteria #2;
  4. Completion of a minimum of 75 credits at the time of induction--a minimum of 15 of these 75 credits must be completed in the major;
  5. A minimum of 45 of these 75 credits must be completed while enrolled at a designated Rutgers unit as outlined in criteria #2;
  6. A grade-point average of 3.4 or better.
